The Sabinsa Corporation of East Windsor, New Jersey announces the submission of specifications on L-Selenomethionine to the United States Pharmacopoeial Commission.

According to the company, L-Selenomethionine is the safest, most efficacious form of selenium. Due to its organic structure, it is more bioavailable than inorganic forms such as sodium selenite. Sabinsa is the first U.S. based company to manufacture the pure compound.

Recognition of L-Selenomethionine in the USP would increase awareness of quality related products in health food and nutritional supplement formulations.
