Sami-Sabnsa Group, the research and manufacturing arm of Sabinsa Corporation, was recently notified that it will be the recipient of two Export awards for the year 1999 - 2000 from the Spices Board of India.

The awards, to be bestowed at a ceremony in India in September, are for:

Outstanding performance in the export of value added spices Outstanding performance in the development of new spice products

This is not the first time Sami-Sabnsa Group has been honored by the Indian government. In 1995, Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Sabinsa's founder received the President's Award for Quality and Innovation from Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, then President of India. Sami-Sabnsa Group, Sabinsa's primary research and manufacturing facility located in India, was then named company of the year.
